DPTI Awards

DPTI is stimulating a collaborative research environment by initiating new research projects with a competition for seed proposals in the five key clusters of DPTI: Food & Pharma; Energy; Water Processing; Solid & Fluid Mechanics; Processing of Advanced Materials. DPTI hosted a networking and brainstorming session that yielded more than ten multi-disciplinary teams, forming the basis of the DPTI competition.

On July 2021, the DPTI community tuned in for DPTI 2021 awards in a digital environment to listen pitches by principle investigators from four different faculties across TU Delft. Principle investigators enthusiastically shared and incubated innovative, multi-disciplinary ideas to advance the field of process technology, ranging from novel biosensors to policies for CO2 neutral paths.

At the end of the process, the teams lead by Alina Rwei (biosensor), Hanieh Bazar (membranes), Mar Perez-Fortes (CO2 neutral paths) and Atul Bansode (thermochemical water-splitting) won DPTI funding to finance co-financed master projects.

The goal of TU Delft Process Technology Institute (DPTI) is to achieve a coherent research and education program across all faculties within TU Delft working in the field of process technology. DPTI is a research incubator and an enabler for Delft’s process technology community building, specifically relevant for young and starting faculty to find their peers and professional home and allow them to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
